Bangtan Boyas, also known as BTS, have done it again, this time snatching three prizes at the 2021 People’s Choice Awards.
In Santa Monica on Tuesday, they won Group of 2021 and the awards for song and music video of 2021 for its megahit “Butter.” The Group of 2021 Award is particularly meaningful in that BTS beat other big global artists, including Coldplay, Dan + Shay and Maroon 5.
Thanking its fans, the boyband said through their agency Big Hit Music that the members are happy because the awards mean that their efforts are being recognized.
Last year, BTS swept four titles — group, song, album and music video of the year at the annual ceremony.
Meanwhile, Netflix’s Korean series “Squid Game” bagged the Bingeworthy Show of 2021 Award, beating six other shows, including “Loki,” “Ted Lasso,” and “The White Lotus.” It’s already the series’s second international award after winning a 2021 Gotham Award just last month.
