Genshin Impact is one of the benchmark games for phones of this generation. An open-world action RPG with masterful themed visuals and new content added on a regular basis, it has become a staple in the mobile gaming community. Poco saw an opportunity to do a wireless earbud collaboration, which resulted in the Poco Buds Pro Genshin Impact Edition. We have the buds on hand so let’s take a closer look at what you get with these fancy new limited edition earphones.
As expected, Poco Buds Pro Genshin Impact bring a unique visual experience starting with the packaging. There’s an abnormally large box, shaped like a book with red and gold elements and a few four-leaf clovers. The clover is an important attribute in Genshin Impact allowing players to leap to otherwise inaccessible locations on the map and it’s featured heavily across the Poco Buds Pro Genshin.
Unboxing the Buds Pro reveals a small brown leather backpack that serves as a pouch for the Poco Buds’ case. Genshin Impact fans will immediately recognize this is not just any backpack but the one worn by Klee – one of the Pyro Catalyst characters in the game. It features detailed stitching and gold elements as well as a magnetically closing latch. Poco also bundled a red USB cable, three sets of replaceable silicone ear tips and a short gold-colored key chain.
The actual charging case carries a bright red color with a matte surface and golden elements including the aforementioned four-leaf clover. The actual buds are of the in-ear variety and are colored red throughout with golden four-leaf clover elements on the glossy touch area. There’s a single pairing button near the bottom area of the case and a USB-C connector underneath. Poco Buds also come with Qi wireless charging and are rated to deliver up to 28 hours of playtime with the charging case.
As you might have guessed already Poco Buds Pro Genshin Impact have a lot in common with the Redmi Buds 3 Pro which we reviewed a while back. Poco’s earbuds come with the exact same design and specs and you can read all about their performance in our Redmi Buds 3 Pro review.
There are some software exclusive features on the Poco Buds Genshin in the form of Klee voice notifications. You get special sounds with Klee’s voice each time you power on the earphones or connect to a device. Klee will also inform you when your battery is running low or when you turn off the buds.
With their €69 retail price Poco Buds Pro Genshin Impact offer a one of a kind unboxing experience and accessories, solid build quality with an IPX4 splash-proof rating, decent sound output and potent noise cancellation. Genshin Impact fans will also appreciate the Klee voice notifications and unique styling of the buds and their packaging.
The battery on these earphones can hold up for up to a week with mixed usage and you can top it up in a hurry via the USB-C port or wirelessly which is a neat option. As with the Redmi Buds 3 Pro,
the lack of a companion app for non-Xiaomi phones, average call quality and the slightly uncomfortable fit after longer usage sessions are the main downsides here.
Keep in mind that the Redmi Buds 3 Pro earphones that are currently down to €58 on Amazon and will give you the same feature set albeit in a boring white or black color and without the special packaging of the Poco Buds Pro Genshin.
